Ubisoft Montreal has released the full patch notes for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Title Update 1.5.1, which is now live in the game. The update adds more playable content to Valhalla and makes a ton of bug fixes and quality of life improvements.

Notably, Title Update 1.5.1 adds a new pack of Mastery Challenges, introducing three more shrines that will test your melee combat, ranged combat, and stealth combat skills. Yanni Ouahioune, the 22-year-old Rainbow Six Siege player who swatted the Ubisoft Montreal offices in November 2020, has been sentenced to three years of community service for his crimes. “Swatting” is defined as making a prank call to emergency services to bring a dispatch of armed officers to a specific location. This is a serious crime, as swatting has led to people being killed.

This news comes by way of the Montreal Gazette, which notes that Ouahioune will also have to “compensate victims, undergo treatment for a mental health problem and either work or undergo training.”

Ouahioune made a false claim that hostages were taken at the Ubisoft Montreal office on November 13, 2020, leading to an evacuation of the building. Armed officers were dispatched to the location before learning Ouahioune’s call was, in fact, a hoax. Later, it was revealed that Ouahioune swatted the office due to being banned from the online shooter Rainbow Six Siege.

The Battlefield Twitter account is having some fun with its fans today, posting a meme about the forthcoming Battlefield 2042 beta and trolling fans in the process.

Using the American Chopper meme template, the tweet calls out the fact that it’s now September so the beta should be announced and detailed soon based on EA’s previous announcements. As you may or may not know, From Software games on the Xbox One and Playstation 4 suffer from a similar problem: apparent frame rate stuttering. The effect is inconsistent, and only negligibly affects play, but is noticeable across titles on the Playstation 4, from Bloodborne to Elden Ring.

In a new Digital Foundry video, Rich Leadbetter discusses a new series of patches for From Software games on PS4. However, these patches can only be implemented on hacked PS4s and are not an official From Software fix.

The reason for the stuttering effect, is that some frames are delivered slightly slower or faster than the standard rate of 33 milliseconds. That difference in delivery appears to the eye as a stutter, even though the game is technically displaying at 30 fps.

In its recent past, the Ace Attorney series has moved away from using mysticism and more fantastical elements in its plot. That all changes with Spirit of Justice, in which you’ll find yourself questioning just how grounded the roots of series’ legend and myth are. Sporting a cast of familiar faces and a handful of compelling new ones, Spirit of Justice may be the most involved Phoenix Wright title in recent years, with complex murder trials that culminate in you feeling both smart and relieved. It’s refreshing to see the series go full-supernatural this time around and step up its difficulty, a criticism of the last game. There are a few moments where the tension and drama lag thanks to some vapid court antics, but this is small potatoes compared to the beautifully crafted web of intrigue blanketing the rest of the experience.

Peter Molyneux, the famed video game designer known for his work on the Fable series and making bold claims about his projects, has begun to tease his next game.

Speaking to GameReactor, Molyneux said his next game has a mechanic that has “never been seen in a game before.”

“I feel like we are exploiting that mechanic in a world and an environment which may be familiar to people. And because it is in a familiar environment, it’ll be a lot fresher,” Molyneux said. “And a lot of this is very mystical because I’m trying to avoid to tell you what it’s like. Following a successful 2022 series that featured 197,626 participants from more than 100 countries and the largest prize pool to date of $347.9 million, Las Vegas-based Caesars Entertainment has publicly announced that the 54th annual World Series of Poker will once again begin in Las Vegas, more precisely for the second time at Paris Las Vegas and Bally’s Las Vegas in 2023 and should run from May 30th to July 18th.
